We had hoped to have an in-person Christmas fest this year, but as coronavirus numbers continue to rise, and the state has taken measures to limit group gatherings and activities again, we have decided a to-go/drive-through fest is the best option.

For our 2020 fest, then, we will be offering a Christmas meal and a German Christmas gift box.  We will be preselling these options; food may also be purchased day-of, but we encourage preordering to ensure we do not run out.  We will be distributing food, Gluehwein, beer, and wine from noon until 7pm on 6 December 2020.  Preorders must be picked up before 5pm.  Preorders may be placed here.

The meal will be $15, and includes ALL of the following: 2 Bratwurst, 1 Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Kartoffelsalat (German Potato Salad), a Roll, and a Soft Pretzel Stick.  We will not be making substitutions.  Tortes will also be offered for $5 per slice.

Our Christmas gift box will include a chocolate Adventskalender (Advent Calendar), a goodie bag of Christmas chocolate, Marzipan Stollen, Marzipan Gluecksschweine (lucky pigs), candy canes, and 2 Lebkuchen (gingerbread) made by our cooking class.  It will be available by presale only, for $25.  (And again, here is the link to do that.)

Typically, our Christmas in Germany fest takes a slice of German Advent traditions and plunks it down in the middle of Omaha.  We have Gluehwein, (hot mulled wine that in the eyes of many Germans defines the season), a Christkindlmarkt (aka a Weihnachtsmarkt– a Christmas market), Weihnachtsgebaeck (Christmas cookies) and Lebkuchen (gingerbread), as well as our German store, live music, performances by our singers and dancers, German food, and even a visit from St. Nikolaus!
