German Heritage Museum

Located within the German-American Society, the German-American Heritage Museum of Omaha Inc. is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of German-Americans in the Omaha community.

While it shares a home with the Society, the museum operates separately with its own mission, leadership, and funding. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it is sustained entirely through donations from supporters who value the importance of cultural preservation.

Inside the museum, visitors can explore artifacts, historical documents, and stories that highlight the lasting impact of German heritage in the region. It’s a space where history feels personal—connecting generations through tradition, immigration stories, and community roots.
