2021 Fasching has been Cancelled

Fasching is the German version of Mardi Gras, (bust out before you straighten up for Lent). We hold our Fasching each year on the first weekend in February. We will find the Narren coming out of the woodwork to entertain us, singing by Die Singenden Wanderer, Das Männerballett performance, and the Barry Boyce Band for dancing music. This a great event that even the little kids enjoy. Don’t forget, wear a costume; you could win a prize! There will be costume prizes for men, women and children, along with one for couples and groups.

Fasching is one of our best attended events and the large crowd makes the festivities great– like a mid-winter costume party Oktoberfest. Of course the history of Fasching is ancient and has both pagan and Christian origins, (nothing to do with Oktoberfest). If you’re ever in Germany during Fasching you will see that New Orleans has nothing on Germany.  The good people of Cologne start celebrating in November, and it just builds from there! Come and celebrate our Fasching and see what fun and craziness our own members deliver.

If you’ve never been to our event before, here’s a taste of the Das Männerballett performance from 2019!  See more about it from Omaha Magazine.
